Anthony Joseph Nard (Tony), 76, of Endicott, went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2023. A Pittsburgh native, Tony graduated from North Hills High, He attended the University of Miami and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh as a civil engineer. In the 70's, he moved to Athens, PA, serving as the borough administrator during the recovery of Hurricane Agnes. Tony then began his antique legacy opening his first shop, The North Branch Antique Country Store, in Milan, PA. Over the decades, Tony became an avid auctioneer, appraiser, and American picker. In the early 2000's, he moved to Endicott, NY, and opened his second antique shop, Jared's.
Tony was known for his storytelling, encyclopedic knowledge, and love of cooking. He was a lifelong lover of the outdoors and the sea, enjoying fishing, birdwatching, and sailing. He was an explorer -biking around Scotland, sailing to Trinidad, and journeying to Italy. He was also a dreamer with new adventures always in mind, whether it was circumnavigating the world by sailboat or motorbiking around Calabria, Italy.
Tony is survived by his children, Jessica Nard, David and Alyssa Nard, and Jared Welch; grandchildren, Anna and Miles Nard; sister, Linda Leedberg and husband Stan Caldwell; brother, Mark Nard; and former wife Hermine Shapiro; along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Anne Nard; sister-in-law, Linda Nard; and Lori Welch.
