Of Brighton Heights, age 67, passed away on August 11, 2020, with his sister by his side following a courageous battle with cancer. Son of the late Luella and Nicholas Parrendo; brother of David (the late Lorraine), Celeste, and John (Chris); also survived by many cousins, his aunt, nieces and nephews. He served his country as a U.S. Marine from 1972-1974. From 1980-1982, Edward worked for Parsons Brinkerhoff, drafting design and construction drawings for Allegheny County's Light Rail Transit System. He worked for various architectural and engineering firms and in 2006 was hired by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was dedicated to the work and contributed much to our region's infrastructure. In 2011, Ed accepted an assignment with the Department of Defense in Monterrey, California. Ed enjoyed family gatherings, biking, swimming, walking, and exploring new places. Special thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice for their excellent care during his last days. Viewing will be held Saturday and Sunday 2-6 following CDC guidelines.In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ed's memory to the charity of your choice.
