Evelyn M. (Sosnak) Vento

Age 87, of Cranberry Township,formerly of Sewickley Heights, originally from Woodsrun, passed on from this life to the next to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 3, 2020, surrounded by her children. Beloved wife of the late Alfred L. Vento. Cherished mother of Mark (Lisa Nieman-Vento) Vento, Mary Ann (Ronald) Clayton, and Michael Vento; devoted grandmother of Jeanine (George) McGuire, Eric Vento, Nicholas (Rachael) Clayton, and Michael Clayton. Daughter of the late Michael and Mary Sosnak. Sister of Olga (the late August) Manfredo and the late Michael Sosnak, Mary Mazer, John, Andrew, and George Sosnak, and Alice Wiezorek. Evelyn loved the Lord and her Church. She devoted much time and many years to the beautification of the Altars of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church on the North Side of Pittsburgh. She served as the President of the Altar Society for 50 years and had a special place in her heart for Mt. St. Macrina in Uniontown, PA, lovingly selecting the finest vestments for the Priests assigned to the Church. No Visitation. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020, 10 am, in Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church. Please wear a mask. Social Distancing will be adhered to as per CDC guidelines. The family would like to thank Dr. Deakin, caregivers, Vicky Callahan, Mary Crofit, Lisa Spakk and Toni Ference and her primary nurse Shelby Matonak from AHN Hospice for all her care and support over the past few years.
