Janice Marie Rickard

Janice Marie Rickard, age 88, of the North Side, passed peacefully at her home with her family by her side, on Saturday, June 18, 2022.  Beloved wife of Richard R. "Rich" Rickard; Mother of Richard (Julie) Rickard, Hope Toomey, and the late Patricia (surviving spouse Mark) Flanders.  Grandmother of Allan Flanders, Andrea Cooper, Michelle (Fred Light) Siebert, Brittany (Michael) Schacht, Courtney (Brandon) Kennedy, Jessica Jones, James Toomey and Jamylynn Toomey; Great-grandmother of Chloe Light,  Madelyn Schacht, Michael Schacht, Richard Schacht, Carissa Jones, and Olivia Wasielewski; Sister of the late Joseph Bradley, Barbara (Donald) LeDonne and Marcella (William) Romanko.

Friends received on Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm & 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, Inc., 3552 California Avenue at Davis Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA   15212, where a Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am.

Janice was described by her loving husband as "The Most Beautiful Bartender in all of Pittsburgh".  However, she was truly the most beautiful bartender in all of Pennsylvania.  Jan, as most people called her, was known for her homecooked meals where anyone was welcome at her dining room table.  She loved shopping, going to the casino, and her many cats... "Lulu".  However, nothing was more important to Jan than her beloved family.  She made a lasting impact on everyone that knew her and created beautiful memories with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will last generations.

On the day she walked through the Pearly Gates, Heaven it will never be the same again.  The Life of the Party has arrived!  Janice, Jan, Grandma. - You will be forever missed!
