Richard M. Smolin

Age 89, of Brighton Heights, formerly of Greenfield, on Friday, March 11, 2016. Beloved husband for 56 years of Betty (Kress) Smolin;  loving and proud father to his five daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Smolin, Lynne (Harry) Yurchak, Suzanne Smolin, Elizabeth (Todd Argust) Smolin and Nicole (Bill) Olivani; and "Pap" to his 13 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Zachary and Mary Katherine Yurchak, Cole Southworth, Madeleine Argust, Xavier Smolin, Charlie Argust, Claire Argust, Grace Olivani, Victoria Argust, Lydia Olivani and Sam Olivani; son of the late Mary (Kundra) and John Smolin; brother of the late Jayne (Tom) Mudry; also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Mickey was active and involved throughout his life with St. Cyril's Athletic Club Top 200 Club, Parish Council and was an usher for many years.  He golfed every Sunday with the Lockhart Golf Club and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for over 15 years.  He loved to cook for his family - soups, pasta sauces and pancakes were his specialty, and he could fix virtually everything!  He was a wonderful partner, an excellent father, a good neighbor and a great friend.  He will be sorely missed by those who loved him.  Donations may be made to West View Meals on Wheels, 100 Bellevue Avenue, West View, PA   15229.
