Ronald W. Raehn, age 69, of the North Side, died peacefully at home, on Thursday, May 30, 2024. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of almost 40 years, Valerie (Sefick) Raehn; Loving Father to Christopher (Christine) Raehn and Tyler (Fiancee Kristin Stanek) Raehn and adoring Grandfather to Caitlyn Joy Raehn.
Son of the late F. Elmer Raehn and the late Rita (Corcoran) Raehn; He is survived by his siblings Patricia (late Bob, Sr.) McCauley, James (Jane) Raehn, Marilyn (Joseph) Carr, Richard Raehn, Thomas (Carol) Raehn and his much loved Sefick family. Brother to the late Judith Graff. Ron was a beloved Uncle to Dr. Beth McCauley and Kimberly Graff Boneberger amongst many other cherished nieces and nephews.
Fiercely loyal and protective of his loved ones, Ron was always there to lend a helping hand. He was a skilled craftsman with a specialty in carpentry. Ron was known for his love of the outdoors and his connection with nature. He treasured feeling the breath of nature and finding reverence in the woods. Hunting, fishing and gardening were among his favorite pastimes. He thoroughly enjoyed the companionship of his Brittanys: Magnum and Oakley.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Ron's life will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at "Deer Browse 1" Pavilion in North Park. Friends and family are welcomed to gather at 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the American Heart Association. The Raehn family would like to extend sincere gratitude to Ron's friend, Dr. Craig Alpert and the AGH Heart Team as well as his nurses. The superlative care and compassion he received is appreciated beyond measure.
